Little Trouble is a collaborative wine project between Jen Reichardt of Raft Wines and Sara Morgenstern of Ruth Lewandowski that started in 2020. I created a logo for the brand and designed their inaugural labels using an illustration from Jennifer Shada as the centerpiece. In 2022 their Chardonnay was named one of the best in California by The New York Times. Most recently I illustrated and designed a label for their 2022 wine release, Technicolor Daydream.
Le Grand USA
I had a lot of fun designing this invitation for Le Grand’s 2023 Surf and Turf Wild Game and Wine Dinner. The menu included everything seen in the illustration: duck, pheasant, vennison, quail, tuna, and sushi. As well as being a printed invite that looked good enough people would want to hang on to it, I wanted to create something playful, cheeky and eye-catching. This was not going to be just another boring wine dinner – the invite needed to convey to people that they should expect to have fun.
Amiti Wines
Winemaker Rueben Lange, formerly of Broc Cellars and Forlorn Hope, asked if I could create an illustration for his personal wine project, AMITI. Rueben had the idea for a scene featuring a little character of himself getting in the shower, and I had a fun time creating the label.
Gyst Fermentation Bar was a cafe in Minneapolis that was truly one of a kind. Part natural wine bar, part cheese shop, and part kombucha brewery– amongst many other things –Gyst was the go-to destination for great wine and healthy, sustainably-sourced food in the Twin Cities. In 2017, Gyst launched a line of jarred pickles and bottled kombucha that was sold at local grocery stores and co-ops. Collaborating with Sonja Hernandez, I designed the labels to be simple yet bold, and small enough that the color and texture of the product inside would be front and center. In addition to in-house graphic design, I was also responsible for food photography and social media management.
Timberlakes
I shot the album cover and singles photographs for singer and musician Casey Garvey – who goes by the stage name Timberlakes – on Ilford 3200 ISO film. The extreme graininess of the film, combined with the dark, industrial setting, was just what Casey was looking for to represent his new record, Romorantin.
